Died September 1, 2018 at her home. She was born July 5, 1933 in White Pigeon Township to George and Eunice (Strong) Jackson. Zelma attended Scott High School IN, graduating in 1952. On May 25, 1952 she married Ernie Merritt in LaGrange, IN. He preceded her in death September 8, 2011. Zelma was a devoted and loving wife and stay at home mother.

Surviving are 2 sons, Vander Merritt and Marvin Merritt, Constantine, 1 sister and 3 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Larry Merritt, 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

Cremation has taken place. Services are private by the family. Arrangements are being handled by Eley Funeral Home, Constantine.
