Wilma H. Peterson, 93 formerly of Lake Templene, passed away August 3, 2020 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Portage. Wilma was born in Holland, MI on April 30, 1927, a daughter of Hendrick and Anna Groeneveld. On May 9, 1953, she married Louis E. Peterson in Grand Rapids; he preceded her in death on February 9, 2013.

Wilma was the owner and operator of Patrick Abstract & Title. She also worked for the Raleigh Company in Holland for many years. She was a member of the Centreville Baptist Church, where she played the organ for many years. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and volunteering at the pregnancy helpline center.

Surviving Wilma are her daughters Shelley Stiehl of Lowell and Lynne Johnson of Constantine; grandchildren Travis Stiehl, Adam Peterson, Aaron Peterson, Teresa Peterson, Bradley Johnson, and Sheena Johnson; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Eric Peterson, and brothers Henry and Jake Groeneveld.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 1-2:30 PM at Eley Funeral Home, Centreville. Social distanting guidelines will be observed and face masks are required. A religious graveside service will follow at 3 PM at Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville, with Pastor David Peterson (Centreville Baptist Church) officiating.
