Wilma G. Briggs, age 76 of Constantine passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 at Birch Adult Foster Care, Leonidas. She was born on September 9, 1932, the daughter of William and Charlotte (Sours) Brown. Wilma graduated from Quincy High School. She married William Briggs on December 4, 1951. Wilma was employed as an inspector at Owens Illinois in Constantine and also worked for Continental Can Co., Three Rivers and Denton Mills, Centreville. She was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the Church Women's Group, and the Widows Group in Constantine. Wilma cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. Surviving are her son, Daniel (Annette) Briggs, of Three Rivers, daughters, Pamela Jean (Larry) Ill of Vassar, MI, Janice Rae (Robert) Anderson of Tawas, MI, son, Jeffery Briggs of Beauford, S. C. grandchildren, Daniel Briggs, Christopher Briggs, Elizabeth Hodges, Lorri Howard, Zachary Briggs, Peter Ill, Joy Ill, Daniel Stoddard, Jr., Miranda Stoddard, Great Grandchildren, Chelsea & Jennifer Briggs, Hannah Brady, Maime, Heidi & Berkley Reese Hodges, Natalie & Gavin Howard, sister Alice Crossgrove, brothers Lee Brown, Richard Brown, Dale Brown, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, daughter, Sue Elaine Briggs, sister, Gladys McVicker, & brother, Harlow Bates Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, Constantine, at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8th, with Reverend Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Birch Adult Foster Care Hospice Wing.
