William H. Friesner, age 84 of Constantine, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at his home. Bill was born August 7, 1938 at the Constantine Hospital, a son of Harold and Helena (Fetch) Friesner. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1956. On September 22, 1957 Bill married Viola Berry in Constantine.

Bill retired from Miles/Bayer Laboratory in Elkhart after 34 years of service as a Millwright foreman. He then worked a few years for Burr Oak Tool in Sturgis.

Bill was a founding member of St. Joseph County Sheriff's Posse established in the 1960's. His love of horses led him to many organizations including the American Quarter Horse Association, attending nearly every congress since 1967, Lariat 4H Club Leader for 28 years, and former member St. Joseph County Grange Fair Assoc. Bill also enjoyed woodworking, rock collecting, providing family and friends with potatoes during harvest time, many adventures on the golf cart with Vi, and spending time with the Campfire Gang.

Surviving are his wife Viola Friesner, Constantine, daughters Karen (Rod) Howe, LaGrange, Sharon (Jim) Harroff, Bristol, JJ (Jon) Withers, Constantine, grandchildren Mark Neff, Stacy (Ricky Preston) Neff, great grandchildren Hope, Brooke, Matthew, Maddison and Wyatt, brothers Lawrence Friesner, Elkhart, Michael (Rebecca) Friesner, Centreville, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Scott Michael Neff.

Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday Sept. 21, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Constantine Fire & Rescue. Please leave a message for the family and sign Bill's guest book.
