Obituary

Tobias C. Miller, age 87, of Constantine, passed away April 20, 2017 at his home. He was born in Haven, KS on November 23, 1929, a son of Clemens and Polly (Schrock) Miller. Toby graduated from Middlebury High School in 1949 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. On May 18, 1951, he married Shirley Foos in Elkhart. She preceded him in death on January 22, 2013. Toby worked as a farmer, woodworker, and in the RV industry. He retired from Arbor Industries in Middlebury in 1991. He was a member of the Constantine American Legion, enjoyed reading, camping, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by daughter Sharol Stelter, Grand Rapids, daughter Carolyn Schwemer, White Pigeon, daughter Patricia Oswalt, Constantine, son Ronald (Tonya) Miller, Constantine, 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and sister Viola (Ron) Bills, Shipshewana. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 61 years, son Steven Miller, great-grandson Evan Besemer, sons-in-law Douglas Schwemer and Timothy Oswalt, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 infant sister.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine, and Monday from 10-11. Religious services will follow at 11 with Pastor David Peterson officiating.
