Tammy Louise Smith, age 56 of Jones, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at her home. She was born September 19, 1966 in Three Rivers, a daughter of Brady and Harriett (Everman) Chaffee, Sr. Tammy graduated from Constantine High School in 1985. On June 15, 1991 she married Tommy Smith at the Hallelujah Center in White Pigeon. Tammy previously worked as a secretary for K&K Trucking & Son, Inc. in Elkhart. She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint & crafts. Tammy and her husband are members of First Baptist Church-Newberg. Surviving at her husband Tommy Smith, Jones; son Tommy Smith, Jr., Jones: sisters Teresa (Ken) Blazier, Elkhart, Cathy Sherck, Elkhart, Judy (Patrick) Malone, Niles; brothers Brady F. Chaffee, Jr., Vandalia, LeRoy Dale (Teri) Chaffee, Jones; sisters-in-law Janet Fritsche, Elkhart, Pam Chorba, Shipshewana; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparent; parents; brothers George Chorba and Mike Chaffee; and sister-in-law Phyllis Chaffee. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held November 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Newberg, 13021 Born St, Jones, MI 49061, with Pastor Mike Owen officiating. Memorial contribution may be made to the Humane Society of SW Michigan 5400 S. Niles Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085.
