Obituary

Shirley P. Keasey, age 90, went home to our loving Lord on Monday, October 19, 2026, after a short residence at Blueberry Hill Assisted Living.

Shirley was born at home on January 3, 1936, in Marcellus, Michigan, to Vaughn Flagg and Alta Fawn (Woods) Alber.

She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1954 and married Seth R. Keasey on January 28, 1955. They met at the Three Rivers Dairy Bar, one of Shirley’s first jobs. She primarily worked as a housewife supporting Bob in his career and raising her family. She worked in the past at Centreville Public Schools as a teacher assistant and cafeteria help and had a passion for children. She will be remembered for her handmade costumes and appearances at the holidays in her costumes at school and family dinners. She also loved to decorate with elaborate light displays at holiday time and especially loved Christmas. She loved to sew/craft and poured love into numerous quilts made for family and friends. Even when arthritis prevented her from grasping, she managed to make seven quilts for Christmas. She loved to socialize and enjoyed her sewing group and card club friends. She loved to play cards, especially with the cousins. She worked at COA as a volunteer and was also member of Red Hats. She had a deep passion for sports and especially Tiger baseball. She loved supporting Centreville athletics and attending many CHS girls basketball games as well as her own family’s events. She loved garage sales, collecting things like Elvis memorabilia, bowling, and golfing. She loved her family with all her heart and family time at the pool was her happy place. She openly invited anyone and all to come and enjoy the pool. She will be remembered for her laid back but determined nature, sometimes silliness, creativity, and loving heart to everyone. She was one of a kind.

She was preceded in death by her spouse, parents, and brother, Donald C. Flagg.

Surviving are two daughters, Holly (Keasey) and Dave Lovely of Paw Paw, Brenda (Keasey) Pearrow of Centreville; grandchildren, Nathan Pearrow, Lauren (Lovely) Brown, Jill (Pearrow) and Will Roberts, Wade Lovely, Jackie (Lovely) and Tyler McIntyre and great-grandchildren Haley, Ryan, Logan, Liam, Francesca, Penelope, and Genevieve. Also surviving are several close cousins, Chuck (Lelia) Barnhardt, Bill (Sandy) Barnhardt, Dave (Linda) Clark, and Peggy (Flagg) MeHarry, nephew Mike Flagg.

In accordance to Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service to honor Shirley will be held Friday, November 6, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Centreville United Methodist Church, 305 East Main St, Centreville, MI 49032.
