Shane Gary-Gene Nichols, age 21 of Constantine, passed away Wednesday June 7th, 2023. Shane was born September 27, 2001 in Three Rivers, a son of Stephanie Smithers and Shane A. Nichols.

Shane was the tallest one of the bunch. The only one lucky enough to get the "Uncle Eric" gene. He graduated from Constantine Schools and was employed at US Cargo in Bristol. Shane loved fishing, kayaking, X box, 4 wheeling, shooting, and being out on the pontoon. He also had that deep crisp voice and loved making his own music.

Shane loved all these things, but he loved his family and friends more. He was always the one to open the door when a buddy needed a place to stay. Shane was also lucky enough to earn the nickname "Boo Boo" at a very young age, now a grown man being called "Boo Boo". Our precious Boo Boo will be truly and deeply missed by all who knew him, as he was truly and deeply loved in life.

Shane is survived by his parents, Stephanie Smithers and Shane A. Nichols, sister Sommer (Tony Duran) Nichols, brother Joshua Smithers, grandmother Christine Featherstone, grandparents Dallie and Gary Nichols, great uncle Eric Alber (the tall one), many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends, 2 nieces, 1 nephew due June 26th, girlfriend Kendra Pollitt and an expected child due December 31st.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Christine Smithers, great grandmother Bernita Alber, grandfather Ricky Smithers, uncle Bill Smithers, great grandparents Mary and Alfred Bronstetter, Marjorie and Howard Nichols, uncle Dalton Featherstone and cousin Dean Featherstone.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday June 11, 2023 from 2 pm to 6 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held Monday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Kurt Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Constantine Township Cemetery.
