Sandra Kay “Sandy” Sailor, 73, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away on November 1, 2026.Born on May 1, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana, Sandy was the daughter of Lyle and Shirley Williams. On January 15, 1972, she married Larson Sailor, and together they built a life centered around family, sharing 54 years of marriage. Sandy was happiest when she was taking care of the people she loved. Whether she was cooking a favorite meal, sewing something special, or making sure everyone had what they needed, caring for others came naturally to her. Her home was always a welcoming place, not just for her own family, but for the neighborhood children who knew they could count on her, too.
Family was the center of Sandy’s world, and being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys. Affectionately known as “MeMe” to her grandchildren, she took an active role in their lives, just as she had with her own children. From volunteering at school functions to cheering from the sidelines at sporting events, Sandy was always there to show her support. She found happiness in the everyday moments of family life and took pride in being someone her loved ones could depend on.
Sandy will be remembered for her generous heart, her talent in the kitchen and at the sewing machine, and the countless ways she showed her love through the things she did for others. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories with the family and friends who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Larson Sailor; her children, Jason (Teresa) Sailor, Ryan (Ami) Sailor, and Brent Sailor; her grandchildren, Brittany (Zach) Hamminga, Ryan Sailor Jr., Abigail Sailor, Logan Chaney, and Aiden Chaney; and her great-grandchildren, Laine and Easton Hamminga.
She is also survived by her mother, Shirley Williams; her siblings, Pam Yoder, Joy Cripe, and Dave Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Lyle Williams, and her sister, Patricia Williams.
Sandy was such a cherished part of our lives, and her love and presence left a lasting impression on all who knew her. The memories we made together will forever hold a special place in our hearts. She will be deeply loved, fondly remembered, and truly missed.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 12 to 5 at the Cass County Conservation Club, 13710 US-12, Union, MI 49130
