Rose Marie Peterson, age 90 of Sturgis, MI, was called to her Heavenly Home Saturday, January 4th, 2014. Rose was born in Rockford, IL on June 29, 1923, a daughter of Bror and Sigrid (Gustafsson) Challberg. She graduated from Rockford East High School and received her associates degree from Bethel College in St. Paul, MN. On May 3, 1947 she married Walter Peterson in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death October 22, 1999. Rose worked as a ministry partner with her husband for the Michigan Baptist General Conference for 30 years. Rose shared her love of music and piano with many friends and churches. She also enjoyed crochet and needle point. Rose loved her family and spending time together, and most of all she loved and served her Lord Jesus Christ.

Surviving are her sons Daniel (Saundra) Peterson of Mansfield, OH, David (Karen) Peterson of Centreville, Douglas (Eileen) Peterson of Chanhassen, MN, daughters Debora Unruh, of Arcadia, CA and Delora (Mark) Dickson of Salem, SD, grandchildren Anne Marie Peterson, Erik (Sarina) Peterson, Jill Peterson, Jeff Peterson, Joel Peterson, Caleb Peterson, Nicholas Unruh, Erik Unruh, Samuel Unruh, Stephanie (Trevor) Schubert, Molly (Chase) Olson, step grandchildren, Troy (Penny) Keene, Tracy (Ed) Enderle, Adam (Lanette) Keene, Monica Keene, great grandchildren, Kinley and Zoe and 6 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband, twin brother Roy Challberg, sister in law Beatrice Challberg, and daughter in law Lynnea Ann (Miller) Peterson.



Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 10 to 11 am at Centreville Baptist Church. Religious Services will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Interment will be at Algoma Township Cemetery, Rockford, MI at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Centreville Baptist Church.
