Ronnie E. Hawkins Sr. Sturgis, age 60, Died February 16, 2016 at his home after losing his battle with cancer. He was born December 9, 1955 in Sturgis, a son of Junior and Marjorie (Westphal) Hawkins. He graduated from Constantine High School and served in the Army National Guard from 1974 to 1982. On November 29, 1986, Ronnie married Valerie Ann Rustad in Elkhart, IN. He worked as a fork lift operator at Genesis Products and formerly as a truck driver at Four Seasons and Syndicate Systems. Ronnie enjoyed woodworking, fishing and NASCAR. Surviving are his wife Valerie Hawkins, Sturgis, father Junior Hawkins, Three Rivers, daughters Debbie (Gary) Lee, Auburn, IN and Tracy (Martin) Valerio, Sturgis, son Ronnie (Lisa) Hawkins Jr., Three Rivers, grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Monica, Jordan and Devin, 3 great grandchildren, sister Marjorie Hayes, Burr Oak, and brother Robert Hawkins, Sturgis. He was preceded in death by his mother. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Saturday Feb. 20 from 10 to 11 am at Firm Foundation Ministries in Centreville followed by a memorial service at 11 am. Interment of Ashes will be in the Peek Cemetery in Constantine. Pastor Don Smith will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Eley Funeral Homes.
