Ronald L Long , age 83 of Coldwater, passed away November 16, 2025 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born April 26, 1942 in Portsmouth, OH a son of James and Virginia (Lumpkins) Long. Ron served in the US Army and National Guard, and later earned his High School diploma from Centreville Public Schools.
He retired from Burr Oak Tool after several years of service. Ron previously worked at Sturgis Public Schools, Affinity Custom Molding, Fairview Nursing Home and Gray Brothers Stamping.
Ron enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf and especially camping at Grandview Bend Campground in Howe, IN. He was one of the founding members of Centreville Little League, and continued to provide bats and gloves to children at need in the community.
Surviving are his loving companion and best friend of 23 years Carol Trayling, Coldwater, children Lynette (Steve) Brandys, Three Rivers, William (Tracy) Long, Mendon, Anthony (Jenny) Long, Centreville, grandchildren Nichole, Victoria, Misty, Jasmine,Keyara and Mateyah, and many great grandchildren, sisters Evelyn Reeb and Freda Mae Hathaway, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Andrea, and siblings Bill, Randy, Harold, Adrian and Arnold Long, Shirley Chapman and Joyce Jordan.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date.
