Robert Earl "Rocky" Mercer, age 73 of Middlebury, IN, passed away Saturday,  April 20th, 2013 at Goshen General Hospital. He was born on August 2, 1939  a son of Jess Willard and Ruth (Dimmick) Mercer in Constantine, MI. Rocky worked at Syndicate Store Fixtures Middlebury, IN for 18 Years  retiring in 2001. He was also a Truck Driver for Harold Mann. Rocky  was an avid fan of  stock car racing and raced cars for many years.



Surviving are his daughters Christine (Richard) Cox, Constantine, Alysha Mercer, Constantine, Julie (Nick) Fulton, Three Rivers, son Michael (Janet) Mercer, Constantine, grandchildren  Beth Altman, GA, Mary Claire Evans, FL, Jennifer Mercer, Lansing, Michelle Hamminga, Jones, Kristin Cox , Constantine, Damon Mercer, Constantine, Devon Robert Mercer, Constantine, great grandchildren  Josiah Evans, Ervin Altman, Caroline Altman, Bentley Hamminga, sister  Linda (Eddie) Walker, Constantine, brothers James Mercer of Three Rivers, Don (Kim) Mercer , Bristol , IN, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents , son David Mercer and a sister Anna Bingaman.



In Accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 9 to 11 am at Eley Funeral home in Constantine. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 am Saturday with Pastor  Marilyn Schlimgen officiating. Online messages may be left for the famiy below.
