Rita J. Reed, 83 of Centreville, passed away July 22, 2021 at Fairview Nursing Home. Rita was born in Indiana on January 12, 1938, a daughter of Floren and Kathryn (Wilson) Reed. She graduated from Burr Oak High School and then attended Kellogg Community College. Rita worked for the Newberg State Hospital as an Aid. She enjoyed sewing and crafting.

Surviving Rita are a son Adam (Lisa Parker) Altoft of Three Rivers, grandchildren Adam Altoft and Chloe Altoft, great grandchildren Olivia, Emmett, and Beckham, and half sisters Donna Reed and Diana (Chuck) Curtiss both of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jonathan Altoft, sister Joan Summey, and brother David Reed.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services will occur. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Home, Centreville.
