Obituary

Penny M. (Trudell) Herrington, age 55 Redford-Marine City, MI passed away Saturday, July 11th, 2009 in Nottawa, MI while visiting family. Penny was born in St. Clair, MI on May 16, 1954, a daughter of Stanley and Ruth (Schutt) Trudell. Penny graduated from Marine City High School in 1972 and attended St. Clair County Community College. On June 7, 1974 she married Brian Herrington in Marine City. Penny worked for the First American Title Co. in Troy, for the past 4 years. Penny and Brian previously owned and operated the Herrington IGA in Redford and worked for Beatties IGA in Marine City. She enjoyed craft work, traveling and was a wonderful cook, making jellys, soups and pies. Penny was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are her husband Brian Herrington, Redford, daughters Mickey Woodard of Port Huron, Betsy Herrington of Skokie, IL, son Robert Herrington of Plymouth, sisters Donna Allen of Lake Havasu, AZ, Dorothy Smith of Algonac, , Kay DeSnyder of St. Clair, brothers William Trudell of Marine City, Terry Trudell of Algonac, and Joe Trudell of Marine City. many nieces and nephews and her dog Sadie. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Eileen Mann and brother Robert Trudell.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at Alexander's Banquet Hall, 1195 Gratiot Blvd, Marysville, MI Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 11-12, where Memorial Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Relay for Life Cancer Walk. Arrangements were handled by the ELey Funeral Homes in Centreville, MI.
