Obituary

Norma Jean Frays, a beloved resident of Centreville, passed away at the age of 97 on November 8, 2024, at Skaggs Assisted Living in Burr Oak. Born on September 14, 1927, in Centreville, she was the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Rhoda) Luck. Norma was a proud graduate of Centreville High School, class of 1943.

On June 15, 1947, Norma married James Frays at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where she remained a devoted member throughout her life. She was actively involved in the LWML Ladies Aid, reflecting her deep commitment to her faith and community.

Norma dedicated 43 years of her career to Gamble Pharmacy in Centreville, where she worked as a clerk, known for her friendly demeanor and dedication to service.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Jim Fritz of Centreville, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and their families. Norma was preceded in death by her loving husband, James, her parents, her daughter Linda Fritz, sons Randy and Doug Frays, granddaughter Hope (Fritz) Spenner, brother Arnold Luck, and sisters Mildred Hitzeman, Elsie Hitzeman, and Edith Riley.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, November 14, from 10 to 11 am at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Centreville, followed by a religious service at 11 am. Norma will be laid to rest at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville.
