Michael Douglas "Mike" Wahl, 47, of Centreville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 5, 2026.

Mike was born October 13, 1978, in DeKalb, Illinois, to Doug and Terrie (Malone) Wahl. He spent most of his life in the Centreville area, where he built lasting friendships and enjoyed spending time with family, especially with his cousin, Lucas. Mike enjoyed coaching youth sports, hunting on the family farm, kayaking, and traveling. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and rarely missed an opportunity to watch a game. Mike had a love for cooking for others. Mike had a remarkable ability to make friends, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Michael Wahl; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Wahl; and his maternal grandparents, Francis and Phyllis Malone. Surviving are his wife, Heather Wahl; son, Zachary Wahl; daughters, Madelyn Wahl and Michala Massengill (fiancé, Luke Wilson); his parents, Doug and Terrie Wahl of Centreville; brother, Scott (Elise) Potter; sisters, Zara (Scot) LaClair and Jessica (Brian) Stears; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.

Mike will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his loyalty to family and friends, and the many memories shared with those who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Eagles, 715 E Hoffman St, Three Rivers, MI 49093. Family and friends are invited to gather to share memories and celebrate Mike's life. In keeping with Mike's love of family, friends, and the outdoors, those attending are encouraged to come as they are and join in honoring the memories he leaves behind.
