Melva "Janie" Cunningham, age 86 of Centreville, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023. She was born July 31, 1937 in Saginaw, MI. Janie graduated from Centreville High School in 1955. On January 27, 1956 she married Howard Cunningham in Warsaw, IN. He preceded her in death December 23, 2004. Janie worked at Denton Mills and later retired from Sumitt Polymers.

She was member of Centreville Grange #1440, Fair Assoc., and Draft Horse Breeders Assoc. Janie enjoyed crocheting afghans, quilting, ceramics, farming and showing Quarter horses, Palomino horses and Angus cattle.

Surviving are her son DeWayne (Patricia) Cunningham, grandsons Daryl Cunningham and David (Ashley) Cunningham, great grandchildren Izabella Rininger, Sophia Cunningham, Darren Cunningham, Jayzin Guenin and Alexander Miller, nieces Carol Snow Penn and Cheryl Glazener.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Mabel Veon, husband Howard Cuningham, son Douglas Cuningham, brother Alan Laree and sisters Arlyne Becker and Rosella Milliman.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday Sept. 8, from 12 - 2 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious services will be at 2 pm Friday. Pastor Clint Zehr,

Life Church, Centreville, will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville.
