Maxine  Schmidtendorff, age 88 of  of Constantine, passed away  Saturday, October 20th, 2012. Maxine was born in Delaware , Ohio on August 1, 1924,  a daughter of  Clarence and Mary (Thomas) Breece. Maxine graduated from Constantine High School.  On July 9, 1943 she married Forrest  Schmidtendorff in Reno NV . Maxine lived most of her life in the Constantine area and was a member of Porter Baptist Church. She enjoyed  sewing , knitting and making clothing for her collection of dolls. Surviving are her husband Forrest Schmidtendorff, Constantine , daughter Leslie (Dave) Ware of Burr Oak MI, sons Dale (Jaci) Schmidtendorff of Traverse City MI, Michael (Linda) Schmidtendorff of Pompeii, MI, 8 grandchildren Marilyn (Wayne) DiGiacomo , Stacy (Ed) Sult , Debbie (Bob) Monroe , Dan (Jennifer) Schmidtendorff , Shawn (Brett) Clemens , Cassie (Josh) Wiard, Keri (Jason) Reed , Nicole (Jamie) Vrobel, 20 great grandchildren and a sister Beverly  Naylor of Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, son David Schmidtendorff, two brothers Wayland and Lloyd Breece and a sister Wanda Naylor.Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 - 4  and 6 - 8 p.m.  at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Porter Baptist Church, Constantine, with Pastor Randy Peterson officiating. Interment will follow at Constantine Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Porter Baptist Church.
