Mary Ellen Weirich, age 82, of Constantine, passed away October 28th, 2008 at her home. She was born in Valentine, IN on December 30, 1925, the daughter of Herman and Lucy Ellen (Gillingham) Draper. She attended school in LaGrange, IN. On September 8, 1947 she married John W. Weirich in LaGrange, he preceded her in death on March 21, 1991. Mary worked as a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Surviving are her sons, James E. (Helen) Foote of Osceola, IN, John Weirich, Three Rivers, Wayne Weirich, Jackson, David Weirich, Constantine, Keith Weirich, Constantine, sisters, Margaret Bowerman,Potterville, MI, Gladys Strait, Springport, MI, brothers, Howard Draper, Pollock, LA, Bill Draper, Springport, MI, 14 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, granddaughter Norma Jean Reardon, brothers, Jim, Oliver, Dick, Charles, Ralph, Robert & William Weirich, and sister, Evelyn Weirich. Relatives and friends will be received on Friday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where religious services will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery.
