Mary F. McClain, age 88 of White Pigeon, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at ProMedica Nursing Home in Three Rivers. She was born November 6, 1933 in Vistula, IN, a daughter of Perry and Lottie (Bowman) Grosse. She graduated from Wakarusa High School. On October 27, 1951, she married Kenneth McClain at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren in Middlebury, IN.

Mary was a bus driver for White Pigeon Schools for over 30 years. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren where she was involved in women's fellowship groups. She loved singing gospel songs. Mary also enjoyed gardening, flowers, and refinishing old furniture. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family.

Surviving are her children Sally (Tom) Hippen, Sandra McClain Hummel, Scott (Laura) McClain, sister Thelma Chrisman, grandchildren Dustin (Angela) Bennett, Jami (Gary) Butcher, Lacy (Drew) Quake, Ashley (Jeremy) Slemp, Kayle McClain, Cole (Tori) McClain, great grandchildren Joshua Bennett, Shelby Bennett, Dakota Slemp, Dillion Slemp, Dawson Slemp, Deklan Slemp, William Quake, and Wyatt Quake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son in law LeRoy Hummel Jr., grandson Jeremiah (Jeremy) Slemp, and brother Edgar Grosse.

Private services for the family will be held at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine.
