Martha L. Lindsley, age 68 of Kalamazoo passed away Tuesday, December 30th, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born in Newton, Mass on August 18, 1940, the daughter of Norwell and Charlotte (McLeod) Hornbeck. Marti graduated from Waltham High School in 1959, and later received her RN from Glen Oaks Community College. She was a member of the Centreville United Methodist Church and was a bus driver for Centreville Schools. Martha enjoyed vintage car racing, fishing on Lake Michigan, painting, and ballroom, tango & swing dancing.
Surviving Marti are her daughter Lisa (Jeff) DeLeo of Centreville, Nicole Lindsley of Kalamazoo, grandchildren Cody Kellermeier, Brandon Kellermeier, Emily DeLeo, Cooper DeLeo, 2 great grandchildren and many cousins on the East Coast. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Peter Hornbeck.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday January 10, 2009 from 12-2 p.m. at the Centreville United Methodist Church., where Memorial Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Karin Orr officiating. Interment of ashes will be at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centreville United Methodist Church 305 E.
