Marion Kastner Pueschel, age 84, Sturgis, passed away Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 at Thurston Woods Village. She was born in Mason, MI on August 4, 1924, the daughter of Eber and Lena (Harkness) Otis. She graduated from Williamston High School. On June 27, 1945 she married James Kastner in Lansing. He preceded her in death April 7, 1964. On August 23, 1969 she married Robert Pueschel. He passed away Sept. 2008. Marion was an avid nature lover and book reader and was very creative enjoying candle making, ceramics and tole painting. She especially loved her family and cherished time spent with them.
Surviving are her daughters Marsha (David Davis) Luck, Centreville, Joan (Bruce) Berger, Tuscaloosa, AL, Jamie Graham, Sturgis, Marianne Kastner, Portland, OR, Kerry (Michael) VanDort, Zeeland, sons Mark (Gaylene) Kastner, Lansing, James (Denise) Kastner, Centreville, Keith Kastner, Mendon, Matthew Kastner, Sturgis, step daughters Elizabeth Link, Pembrook, Canada, Rosemary Lambert, Burnips, MI, sister Carol (William) Jensen, Redmond, WA, brother Thomas Otis, Yorbalinda, CA, grandchildren Leah Kastner, Benjamin Kastner, Byron Berger, Eric (Amanda) Berger, Tonya Hunter, Tod (Marion) Hunter, Harrison VanDort, Lucianna VanDort, Amber Kastner, Daniel Kastner, Adam (Michelle) Gadnis, Carly (Isaac) Vergara, several gt. grandchildren and special family friend John Fautz. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, step father Stuart Shakstad, son Jeffrey Kastner, son in law Michael Luck, and sister Helen Haase.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 2 - 4 PM at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will follow at 4:00 PM with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association.
