Obituary

Margaret Hackney was born October 4th, 1934 in Battles, Mississippi to the union of Geneva Walker and Enoch Woulard. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her best friend and sister Shirley Mae Kelly, brother Hosea Woulard, three sons Guy William Hackney, Ledell Hackney-Hicks and Charles Hackney, son-in-law Joseph Morgan, and a host of other beloved family members and friends.

Margaret was known very well by the name Gramps; went to be where there is eternal life, and eternal glory on February 20, 2015. Margaret came to know Christ at an early age. Around 12 years of age, Margaret moved to Chicago, where she later came to know Christ in a personal way under the leadership of Reverend O'dell Young, New Macedonia Baptist Church.

Margaret to some, Gramps to many, and Mom to all, enjoyed fishing, cooking, dominos, word puzzles, gardening, casino, and feeding and helping people. She adopted many people spiritually into our family with loving arms and open doors for a warm place to stay and eat. She was the Mother and backbone of many nations.

Woulard; life-long cuzzin and best friend Tuta; son Robert Hackney; daughters Denise Hackney, Neva Hicks, Beatrice Watts and son-in-law Eddie Watts; her long term friend Ledell Hicks and fishing buddy, father, and stepfather to her beloved childrens; two favorable treasures of Mom, Pete and Lerone, has been a part of her life since the existing when Gramps came about; her grandkids Kendall Hackney Sr., Lady Margaret Morgan, Enrique & Abrena O'tey, Dwana Jones, Denise, Phillip, Brittany, Jasmine, Norma-Rae, Shaunta Conley, Cierra Watts, Shawn, Tiffany, Cheryl lynn, Tiauna, Seika, Chase Hackney; a host of great and great-great grandkids; a host of nieces and nephews, great, and great-great ones; cousins; relatives; and friends.
