IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marcy Anne
Wentzel
September 27, 1942 – September 16, 2025
Marcy Anne Wentzel age 82 of Kalamazoo, died September 16, 2025, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born September 27, 1942, in Lima, Ohio a daughter of L. Thomas and Anne (Lateer) Fisher. Marcy graduated from Constantine High School in 1959. On August 6, 1960, she married her high school sweetheart Clarence Wentzel in Constantine. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2020.
Marcy was a lifelong homemaker, accompanying her husband to Detroit, Michigan and then to São Paulo, Brazil and Caracas, Venezuela for his employment with GM. She was an amazing and talented self-trained artist with a unique gift for decorating. Marcy was the queen of "DIY" well before the term (or YouTube videos) existed. Her many projects included making homemade coffee cakes, hand crafting ornaments for school fundraisers, baking dozens of Christmas cookies to share with family and friends, painting, wallpapering, and installing mesh around the top wall of our entire home to keep out bugs, just to name a few. There was no home project she could not handle or figure out on her own. She enjoyed all crafts, rubber stamping, sewing, card making and especially tending to her beautiful garden that was admired by many in her community.
Surviving are her children James (Bernadette) Wentzel, Cleveland, OH, Lee (Cindy) Wentzel, Kalamazoo, Lisa (Dominic) Messina, Chicago, grandchildren Irena Wentzel, Jason (Noelia) Messina and Daniel Messina, brothers David (Norma) Bice, Ravenna, OH, Peter (Stephanie) Bice, Allen, TX, sister Polly Lewis, Columbus, OH, sister in law Mary Jo Bradbury, Punta Gorda, FL, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, stepfather Robert T Bice, and brothers N. Lee Fisher and Robert J. Bice.
Cremation has taken place. Family services will be held at a later date. Burial of ashes will be in the Constantine Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Air Zoo in Portage, MI. https://www.airzoo.org/support.
