Lyda L. Nickell, age 93 of Constantine, passed away September 2, 2015 at her home. Lyda was born in Hamilton, OH on August 7, 1922, a daughter of George and Tina (Kates) Parker. She married Elwood L. Nickell in Hamilton, OH. He preceded her in death on November 1, 1962. Lyda owned and operated E.L. Nickell Co. from 1962 until 2001. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Business & Professional Womens Assoc., Michigan Small Business Assoc., Constantine Rotary Club where she was a charter female member, past President and Paul Harris Fellowship recipient. She also served on the Three Rivers Hospital Board for 21 years.

Surviving are her son Shelby Nickell, grandson Eric Lee Nickell, special friends and caregivers Verglea Gotfryd and Mary Gearhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bruce Nickell and 5 brothers, Orlin, George, Eurtly, Dewey and Richard Parker.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2- 4 and 6-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will be held 11 AM Saturday at the Constantine United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Manning officiating. Interment will be in Peek Cemetery.
