Louise Alliece Lawson, age 80 of Constantine, passed away Thursday, November 14th, 2013 at her home. She was born in Three Rivers on October 19, 1933, the daughter of Harold and Edith (Clark) Preston. On October 21, 1950 she married Robert Lawson Sr. in Three Rivers, he preceded her in death June 27, 2001. Louise was a cook at Constantine Public Schools for 16 years, retiring in 1994. She previously worked as a cook at the Harvey House and Village Inn. She also helped her husband as sexton of the Constantine Township Cemetery from 1974 to 1989.



Louise attended Three Rivers Schools. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Louise also was a member of the Widows Group, Constantine American Legion Auxiliary and the River Country Quilters Group.



Surviving Louise are her daughter Zandra (Allen "Khris") Welburn of Constantine, grandchildren Jason Mallo, Elizabeth "Niki" (Larry "Rufus") Britton, Sylena (Mark) Britton, Charlotte "Allie" Welburn, Great Grandchildren Lita Mallo, Jessica Mallo, Gage Mallo, Dylan , Drew, Lindsay, Donovan, Kadin, Devan and Morgan Britton, Great Great Grandchildren Trey and Luxx Owen, sister Caralene Skelton, Constantine, brother LeRoy (Peg) Preston, Constantine, 1/2 brother Gordon (Ruth) Preston, Three Rivers, 1/2 sisters Diane (Matt) Bergakker, Three Rivers, Kathy (Jerry) Bergakker, Portage and Susan (Tate) Echola, Crystal Falls, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Lawson Jr. and 1/2 brother Harold Preston Jr.



Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home, with Pastor Kathy Schuen, First Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church or Constantine American Legion.
