Lisa K. Bronstetter VanSumeren, beloved daughter of Yvonne and the late George Bronstetter, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, leaving behind a family and many friends who loved her deeply and will miss her dearly.
Lisa was born on February 27, 1970, in Three Rivers, Michigan. She attended Centreville Public Schools graduating in 1988. She continued her education at Glen Oaks Community College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Business.
Lisa began her working career with the Arch Workshop, where she helped people with disabilities in many ways, including transportation, job training, and other areas of support. She later spent many years working in the retail business, serving in a variety of capacities and taking on lead roles. Through her work, Lisa touched many lives and built relationships with coworkers and customers along the way.
Lisa was the loving mother of Nikki and Alex Walther. She was especially proud to have become a grandmother to Nikki’s daughter Lacey Yvonne only three months ago—a new role that brought her great joy and a very special love.
Lisa had a personality all her own and a wonderfully unique, sometimes unexpected sense of humor that could bring laughter to those around her. She was loved by many and will be remembered for her genuine spirit, her unforgettable personality, and the memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her.
Lisa shared a special bond with her beloved dog Dolly, a cherished companion who brought her comfort, love, and joy.
Lisa’s life was not always an easy journey, but she was loved through it all. She is now at peace, free from the struggles of this life, and reunited with her father, George, her special grandmother Mary, and other loved ones who went before her.
Lisa is survived by her daughter Nikki and Nikki’s daughter Lacey, her son Alex Walther, her mother Yvonne Bronstetter, grandmother, Pat Teed, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Lisa will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Florence Church of the Brethren, 17975 Centreville-Constantine Road, Constantine, Michigan.
Family and friends are warmly invited to come together to remember Lisa, share stories, laughter, and memories, and celebrate the life she lived. A light lunch will be provided following the service.
