Leroy Tissue, age 75, was born on November 20, 1950, and passing away on June 10, 2026, lived a life marked by steady devotion, hard work, and deep love for his family and community. He was a man who carried himself with quiet strength, a generous spirit, and a sincere kindness that touched the lives of many. Those who knew him will remember his warm presence, his dependable nature, and the many ways he shared his time, talents, and heart with others.

Leroy was the beloved husband of Judy Tissue, and together for 56 years, they built a life centered on family, faithfulness, and enduring commitment. He was a proud father to Leroy II (Tanya) Tissue, Eric (Tara) Tissue, Adam Tissue, Aaron (Vanessa) Tissue and Mary (Mark) Schabes. He was also a cherished grandfather to Kayla Tissue, Katlin Tissue, Thomas Tissue, Amelia Tissue, Hollyanne Tissue, Bo Tissue, Autumn Schabes, and Hailey Schabes. His family was one of his greatest joys, and he treasured every gathering, conversation, and moment spent with those he loved.

He is also survived by his brothers, Gary, Steve, Dennis and Glenn; his sisters, Sharon Schultz and Clara Schied.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Mary Tissue and his brother, Randal.

Leroy devoted his working life to being an agricultural service technician, a role he held with dedication and pride throughout his career. He was known for his strong work ethic, his practical skill, and his willingness to help wherever he was needed. His reliability and professionalism earned the respect of coworkers and acquaintances alike, and he approached his work with the same steady character that defined so much of his life.

Outside of work, Leroy found great joy in beekeeping, a passion he nurtured for 56 years. He cared for bees with patience and respect, and his connection to this craft reflected his appreciation for the natural world and the rewards of faithful stewardship. For 45 years, he also operated a honey shop, where his labor and knowledge became part of a lasting legacy. Through this work, he shared not only honey, but also his dedication, experience, and love for something he truly cherished.

Leroy was also deeply involved in service to others through his many associations and community commitments. He served as a Scoutmaster in Centreville, Michigan, where he helped guide and encourage young people with patience and example. He was a life member of the Sheridan, Michigan VFW, and he held meaningful connections with The VFW National Home as well as multiple recreational associations. His involvement in these organizations reflected his belief in fellowship, service, and the importance of giving back to the communities that shaped his life.

Those who knew Leroy will remember a man of integrity, humility, and steadfast devotion. He was someone who could be counted on, whether in his family life, his work, or his many years of service and involvement. His legacy lives on in the family he loved, the friendships he formed, the work he completed, and the many lives he influenced through example and care.

Leroy Tissue will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who were fortunate enough to know him. His life was a testament to perseverance, loyalty, and kindness, and his memory will remain a source of comfort and pride to his family and friends.

Memorial services for Leroy will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026 at the Firm Foundation Church, 6510 E. Main St., Centerville, MI 49032.

Leroy’s family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, June 28, 2026 and from 10:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026 until the time of services, all being held at the church.

A private family interment will take place at Nottawa Township Cemetery.
