Karl Galen Callender Sr., age 68, of Constantine, died August 01, 2016, at Three Rivers Health Hospital. He was born December 28, 1947, a son of George and Alice (Bennett) Callender. On July 7, 1993 Karl married Janelle Ripke in Louisville, KY. He worked at Owens-Classic and Leland Engineering prior to working as a door builder at Haulmark Industries in Bristol for 21 years, retiring in December 2007. Karl was known as a 'jack-of-all-trades' and he enjoyed woodworking, chainsaw repair, hunting and fishing.
Surviving Karl are his wife Janelle, Constantine, children Karl Callender, Jr., Atlanta, GA, Michael Callender, Portland, OR, Christine Miller, Smithville, TN, stepson Derek Leeth, grandchildren Cody Callender, Kristopher Callender, and Andrea Miller, sisters Jacqueline Russell, Battle Creek, and Marlene Vaughan, St. Augustine, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eldon Callender.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes in Constantine.
