Obituary

Johnnetta (Netta) Hart  age 88 of Centreville, passed away peacefully Wednesday  May 22, 2013 at Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Centreville. Netta was born on July 30,1924, the  daughter of Bert and Lillian (Wagner) Phelps in AuSable Township, MI.  In September of 1972 Netta married Roger Hart at the Centreville Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on November  12, 2012. Netta loved life and loved to work each year at the St. Joseph County Fair as a ticket taker. She called herself  "the ripper, gripper and stripper"  of the I.D Bracelets. Netta and Roger were very active in Centreville activities and loved the community, they were once named  "Citizens of the Year". Netta received many awards for selling tickets for The Covered Bridge Days Festival. Netta worked for many years at E&K Restaurant in Centreville, as well as 32 years at the Centreville United Methodist Church as a Custodian. Due to bad health Netta moved to Fairview Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre where she could keep an eye on the fair and the lights.Surviving her are sons Larry Young of Jackson, Bob Young of Sarasota, FL, Bert Young, sisters,  Harriet (Ira) Smith of St Augustine, FL, Henrietta (John) Wynn of Jackson, special grandson Jimmy Stallard and family, Sturgis, special niece Linda (Keith) Gardner, Coldwater, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roger Hart and daughter Debbie Luvyet, sisters Agnus Roland and Izzy Smith, and brothers Harold, Delbert, Theron, Charles & Clarence (Pete) Phelps.  . Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday May 28,2013 from 11 am - 1 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where Religious Services will immediately follow at 1 pm with Reverend Dr. Karin Orr of  Centreville United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Prairie River Cemetery, Centreville. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to Centreville United Methodist Church.
