Jerry L. Dowell, Sr., age 77, of Centreville, passed away April 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Union City on July 3, 1940, a son of Anthony and Mable (Stone) Dowell. Jerry attended school in the Union City/Coldwater area. In 1979, he married Joanne Birch Myers in Coldwater.

Jerry worked as a security guard for Toller Building in Battle Creek. He also enjoyed working as a vendor at flea markets around Paw Paw, Grass Lake, and Coldwater.

Surviving Jerry are his son Jerry "JR" (Missi) Dowell of Centreville, daughter Debra (Nathanial) Jones of Battle Creek, step children Florine Michael of Centreville, Chauncey (Debbie) Myers of Bronson, and Rebecca (Terry) Myers of Battle Creek; grandchildren Joey, Jayden, Mya, McKenna, CJ, Austin, Raymond, Selena, and Savannah; many step-grandchildren; siblings Clarence Dowell of Coldwater, Mike Dowell of Jackson, Anna Dowell of TN, and Joyce Ash of Three Rivers; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Joanne Deihl, stepson Kenneth Myers, Jr., and siblings Albert Dowell, Morris Dowell, Esther Dowell, Lindsey Dowell, and Laura Dowell.
