Jerry Bergakker, age 66 of Portage, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at his home. He was born October 15, 1959 in Grand Rapids, MI a son of Marvin and Kathy (Ellen) Bergakker. Jerry attended Kentwood High School. On August 26, 1978 he married Kathy Preston in White Pigeon.  She preceded him in death September 30, 2025.

Jerry worked as a welder for several companies including Centurian, Leland Engineering, Keiser, and Stelco. He enjoyed paintball, hunting, fishing, playing poker and model cars. Jerry also loved to make custom carved walking sticks

Surviving Jerry are his son Matthew (Dana Schaefer) Bergakker, White Cloud, daughter Amanda Bergakker, Hawkins, TX, grandchildren Silas, Kole, Kallie, Emma, Morgan, Noah& Luke, brother Matt Bergakker, Three Rivers, sister Darla Middlestadt, White Cloud, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Bergakker, mother Kathy VanAuken, brothers Rocky Bergakker, Dallas Bergakker, sister in law Diane Bergakker and brother in law Jeff Middlestadt.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no public services.
