Janice A. Brigham, age 71 of Centreville, passed away Monday, January 5th, 2009 at her home. She was born in Porter Township on March 20, 1937, a daughter of George S. and Geraldine (Parsons) Sewards. She graduated from Centreville High School in 1956 and attended Kalamazoo Beauty Academy. On April 8, 1961 she married Amos L. Brigham, Jr. in Centreville. Janice was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her husband and children. She had also worked at Dr. Dentons and as a crossing guard for Centreville Schools. She was a member of the Riverside Grange and liked cooking and baking.
Surviving Janice are her husband Amos Brigham, Jr., of Centreville, daughters Theresa J. Brigham of Centreville, Tina A. (John) Wells of Wabash, IN, Tracie S. (Charles) Barnes of Constantine, son Terrence Brigham of Centreville, three grandsons Bradley A. Barnes, Joseph T. Barnes and Anthony W. Barnes, all of Constantine. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son Leslie S. Brigham, and sister Georgia Sewards.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville, where religious services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Pastor Dave Peterson of Centreville Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be at Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Centreville Fire & Rescue.
