Janet Mae Lucas, age 60 of Constantine, passed away Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her loving family . She was born in Highland Park, MI on August 7, 1950, a daughter of Gordon and Betty  (Anderson) Ferguson. Janet attended Watervliet High School, and later graduated from Constantine Public Schools. On July 15, 1967, she married Daniel J. Lucas in Benton Harbor, MI. Janet was a homemaker until her children were grown. She then worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Vaupell Midwest Molding in Constantine, for 16 years. Janet enjoyed reading, gardening, hummingbirds and horses. She loved her pet boxers and spending time with her family. Surviving Janet are her husband Daniel Lucas, Constantine, daughters Angela M. (Gene) Atherton of Constantine, Nicole B. (Kevin) Steglich of Middlebury, IN, Jeri L. (Jerry) Mehrley of Shipshewana, IN, grandchildren Jessica (Josh) Harrell, Tony Steglich, Jamie Mehrley, great grandchildren Devin Harrell and Riley Harrell, sisters Carol  (Don) Bromigan of Coloma, Beth (Jay) Howard of Berrien Springs, Barb (Phil) Forestieri of Watervliet, brother Gordon Ferguson of Watervliet, nieces Emily, Kelly & Megan, and nephews Matt & Nick. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Adam Steglich.Relatives and friends will be received Sunday 4-7 pm and Monday 2-3 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious Services will follow at 3:00 p.m. Monday with Pastor Glenn Sischo of Calvary Christian Fellowship of Three Rivers officiating. According to her wishes, cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, Pregnancy Helpline of Three Rivers, or St. Joseph County Relay for Life.
