James A. Mercer, 78 of Three Rivers, died March 24, 2021 at his home. He was born on June 12, 1942 in Constantine, a son of Jess Willard and Ruth (Dimmick) Mercer. James graduated from Constantine High School in 1960 and later served in the US Air Force. In 1963, he married Frances Wolgamood. James retired form Conn-Selmer Inc., Elkhart, a saxophone manufacturer, after many years of service.

He was a member of Constantine American Legion and enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, watching Constantine and University of Michigan sports, and spending time with his friends and family.

Surviving are his sons Mitch (Tammy) Mercer of Three Rivers and Marty (Julie) Mercer of Catawba, NC, grandchildren Brooke Mercer and Tony Mercer, great grandson Alexander Mercer, sister Linda (Eddie) Walker of Constantine, brother Don (Kim) Mercer of Bristol, IN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frances, brother Robert Mercer and sister Anna Bingaman.
