Goldie Alice Hernandez, age 71 of
Centreville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009 at her home. Goldie was born in Allegan on September 1, 1938, a daughter of Merritt and Goldie (Failor) Butler. She graduated from Three Rivers High School. Goldie married Kenneth Watson in 1956, he preceded her in death in 1970. On July 17, 1980 she married Fidencio "Phil" Hernandez in Three Rivers. Goldie worked as a physical therapist at Fairview Nursing Home and Three Rivers Health Hospital. She was an avid reader and was active in the Nottawa Township Library. Goldie also enjoyed working in her garden and loved her flowers. She collected turtles and was a fan of the television shows Cops, Judges, Bones and House. Surviving are her husband Phil Hernandez, Centreville, son David Watson of Paw Paw, daughter Dawn (Roger) Harper of Colon, sisters Marian Lukins of Ft. Wayne, Nancy Lukins of Kalamazoo, grandchildren Amanda (Dustin) Schmittendorf, Constantine, Andrea Watson, Centreville and great grandson Tallen Schmittendorf. She was preceded in death by her parents. At her request cremation has taken place. Services are private at the convenience of family.
