Gilbert "Gil" Jackson, Jr., age 92 of Three Rivers, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo.   He was born July 29, 1932 in Clinton, Indiana, a son of Gilbert and Jessie (Robertson) Jackson.  Gilbert graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1950, and earned an Associates Degree at Glen Oaks Community College, then a Bachelor's Degree in Business at Western Michigan University. Gilbert served in the US Army from 1952 until 1954. On July 29, 1956 he married Martha Sell in Constantine.  She preceded him in death on March 21, 2023.

Gilbert worked for Michigan Power, (Michigan Gas, Semco) since 1949, retiring as a supervisor of gas lines in 1994.  He was a ham radio operator, and enjoyed the Lawrence Welk Show, old movies, and westerns. Gilbert was a "Mr.-Fix-It", loved to work with his hands, and also a steadfast provider for his family.

Surviving are his daughters Connie (Dean) Morrill, Three Rivers, Susan (Terry) Simmons Elkhart, and Debra (Mark) KInney, Three Rivers; grandchildren Brad (Melanie) Morrill, Travis (Kaylee) Morrill, McKenzie Morrill, Ashley (Corey) Ray, Cody (Morgan) Morrill, Brittany (Matt) Hartzell, Megan (Justin) Heflin, Nichole (Jason) Flicker, Mark Kinney, Mariah (Ronnie White) Kinney; 22 great grandchildren and his beloved cat Henry.

Preceding Gilbert in death are his parents, wife, infant grandson Jason Morrill, and grandson Brandon Gilbert Morrill.

Relatives and friends will be received Monday May 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM -1:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 56050 Buckhorn Rd, Three Rivers, MI 49093. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Vicky Blough officiating.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
