George H. "Beagle" Rice, age 82 of Centreville, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at his home.  He was born in Three Rivers on Dec. 6, 1941, a son of Jack and Naomi (Freese) Rice. George attended Centreville High School.  On July 16, 1960 he married Betty J. Heitger. She preceded him in death on May 4, 1999. He then married Patricia (Shears) McCann on Aug. 19, 1999.

George worked for American Axle as a machine operator, then as a process analyst, retiring in 2005 after 28 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Surviving George are his wife Patricia Rice; daughter Christina Robinson; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; step-children Larry Jay McCann; Susan VanScoik;  and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by is parents, first wife Betty Rice; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no public services. Interment of ashes will be in Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville.
