George R. Featherstone, age 86 of Constantine, passed away Friday, December 5th, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center. George was born in Constantine, July 24, 1928, a son of Leslie and Edna (Wright) Featherstone. On November 7, 1951 he married Irene Merritt in Constantine. She preceded him in death June 12, 2004.

George was a member of Trinity Missionary Church in Constantine. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked at Form Tubes in Sturgis and Continental Can in Three Rivers. George enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially trips to Northern Michigan. He also loved working on cars and listening to gospel music.

Surviving George are his daughters, Bonnie (Featherstone) & Alden Zimlich, Three Rivers; Teresa Featherstone, sons Leslie "Bob" & Wendy (Wittenberg) Featherstone, Mike & Lois (Graber) Featherstone, sisters, Eilene (Don) Avery, Mary Bronstetter, brothers, Paul (Gail) Featherstone, Lloyd Featherstone, Carl (Shirley) Featherstone, all of Constantine; grandchildren Jason (Jenny) Featherstone, Kane (Angie) Featherstone, Summer Featherstone, Crystal Gerzeski, Andrea Zimlich, Jake Featherstone, Leona (Kyle) Walker, great grandchildren Lillian, Kyra, Payton, Shyanne, Michael, Collin, Elizabeth, Weston and Evan, and companion Pat Weiss. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A memorial service will be held next year on August 29, 2015 at the home of Carl Featherstone. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Trinity Missionary Church, 64890 US 131, Constantine, MI 49042. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Home in Constantine.
