Gary L. Jenkins     Age 69

Constantine, MI

Passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019. He was born January 28, 1950 in Shelbyville, IN, a son of Charles and Sarah (Campbell) Jenkins. Gary graduated from Anderson High School in Anderson, IN. He served in the US Navy for 10 years during the Vietnam War. On February 15, 2000, Gary married Karen Sigler in Elkhart, IN.

Gary worked as a Prison Guard at Pendleton Correctional Facility in Pendleton, IN, as a Police Officer in Scottland Neck, NC, and as a Security Officer in Elkhart. He  later retired as Head of Security for Coachmen Industries in 2001, where he has continued working part time security since retirement.

Surviving are his wife Karen Jenkins, Constantine, children Paul (Jeanett Mae) Barnhart, Union,  Keven (Jill) Barnhart, Elkhart, Pat (Michelle) Barnhart, Elkhart, Robert Allen (Karen Baker) Barnhart, Shipshewana, Mari (Mike) Noblett, MO, and Christopher Jenkins, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Ronnie Reed, Spencer, IN, twin brother Larry Jenkins, Marion, IN, Roy Jenkins, Pendleton, IN, sisters Sheryl Wright, Anderson, IN, Sharon Dick, Suffolk, VA, Beverly Gordon, Casper, WY, Jacqueline Phillips, Anderson, IN, Carla Zech, Anderson, IN, half brothers Dennis Jenkins and Donald Jenkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray Jenkins.

Graveside Services will be held 3 pm Tuesday June 18, 2019 at Keightley Cemetery, 3945 N. 850 W., Shipshewana, IN. Pastor Stephen Lewis of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Shipshewana will officiate. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes, Constantine, MI.
