Frederick Arthur Stears, 65, passed away July 5, 2021 at his home. Fred was born in Three Rivers on December 14, 1955, a son of Frederick F. and Betty (Tish) Stears. He graduated from Constantine High School in 1974. On June 5, 1982, he married Gloria Carper in Constantine; they were later divorced. Fred farmed the Stears Family Farm for most of his life. He was also known for their 'Stears Sweet Corn' and 'Stears Greenhouses'. He loved fishing, trapping, and hunting, and was an active '4H Dad' when his children were younger.

Surviving are his children Fred Stears and Katie Stears, both of Constantine; their mother Gloria Stears of Constantine; grandchildren Khloe German, Hunter German, Colton Stears, Frederick Ronald Stears, and Cooper Roy Stears; siblings John (Sheila) Stears, Rita (Jim) Bickle, and Sheila (Frank) Seybert all of Constantine; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Brittany Stears.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, July 10 from 1-4 PM at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine. Memorial contributions can be given to St. Joseph County 4H Youth Council.
