Frank Wittendorf Jr., passed away on April 5, 2026, in Constantine, Michigan, at the age of 74.
He was born on May 18, 1951, in Zanesville, Ohio, and lived a life marked by hard work, good humor, and devotion to the people and places he loved. Frank spent more than 40 years working as a millwright at the Constantine Paper Mill, where he earned the respect of his coworkers through his dedication, skill, and steady presence. His long career reflected the same dependable character that defined every part of his life.
Frank was a man who enjoyed the simple things and made them memorable for everyone around him. He loved scratch off tickets and was considered part of the family at the local gas station with Tarsem and his dad. He looked forward to his Monday Aldi trips and always made sure to get his half gallon of chocolate milk for Troy. He loved feeding his critters, and his affection for his two dogs, Snickers and Reecee, was unmistakable. He was known to greet them with a cheerful, “Alright sissy girls, you keep an eye on things.” Frank also enjoyed NASCAR and M 40 races, and one of his favorite memories was serving as a Pace Truck Driver. He had a playful spirit, loved pranks, and was often the one bringing laughter into a room. He even made sure everyone knew that his dog groomer had been cutting his hair for 20 years, a detail he shared with pride and humor.
Frank was also a Third-Degree Free Mason and valued the fellowship and tradition that came with that association. He carried himself with quiet strength and a strong sense of loyalty, and he will be remembered for the way he showed up for others with warmth, wit, and sincerity. Those who knew him best will remember his teasing nature, his quick smile, and the unmistakable way he made ordinary moments feel special.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughters, Tisha (Troy) Wyatt and Christy (Terry) Frye; his daughter-in-law, Andi Wittendorf; his grandchildren, Cortney Eidson, Cody Frye, Madison and PJ Fraczek, Addison Wittendorf, Dalee, Jaxsin Wyatt, Paytin Wyatt, and Journee Wyatt; his great-grandchildren, Khloe and Zoey; his siblings, Nancy (John) Mayer and Marvin (Karen) Wittendorf; his special friends, Kirby Martin and Tim Wogan; and many nieces, nephews, and extended relatives who will miss him dearly.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Mable; their son, Frank Wittendorf III and sister Kim Katt. Their memory, along with the love of his family and friends, now joins the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
He will be remembered as a hardworking man with a generous heart, a sharp sense of humor, and a deep love for his family, his friends, and the everyday routines that brought him joy. Frank’s life was one of devotion, laughter, and steadfast presence, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Graveside services for Frank will be held at the Constantine Township Cemetery, 530 Florence Rd, Constantine, MI 49042 on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jamey Smith officiating.
