Fletcher "Bumpy" West, age 78,
of Three Rivers
passed away March 14, 2016 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. He was born on July 11, 1937 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, a son of Fletcher and Madeline (Young) West. Fletcher graduated from Milford High School and served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He continued his education at Boston College and Harvard University, graduating with a Metallurgy Degree. On May 25, 1985, he married Sonja K. (VanZile) Outman on Mackinaw Island. Together, they owned and operated Justa Truckin, Inc. and Total Transportation Systems, Inc. of White Pigeon since 1985.
Fletcher is survived by his wife Sonja; stepsons Craig (Pam) Outman of Ohio, Brett (Donna) Outman of Three Rivers, and Eric (Manda) Outman of Portage; 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; 1 great-grandson; sister Lorna Interian of California; 3 nephews and 3 great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Timothy K. Outman.
Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be in Constantine Township Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Eley Funeral Homes, Constantine.
