Elaine Grace (Lanny) Bullard-Mathis, age 57 of Constantine, passed away Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at her home. Lanny was born in Lansing, MI on July 14, 1952, a daughter of Keith L. and Phyllis Lee (Haskell) Bullard. She graduated from Harrison High School in 1970 and attended Mid Michigan Community College receiving certification as a Nursing Assistant. On November 5, 2006 she married George Mathis in Harrison. Lanny worked as a Nursing Assistant, staffing secretary and in medical records at Tender Care Nursing home in Clare, MI for 20 years. She was a member of the Harrison Church of God where she taught Sunday school and played an active role in the church. Elaine was the most kind and loving person. She was devoted to her family and helped raise her nephew. Following retirement Lanny volunteered at Tender Care and her church with teen Bible study. Lanny brought love and joy to every life she touched. Surviving are her son Phillip Bullard, White Pigeon, step son Jason Bender, Centreville, granddaughter Ashlynn Bree Bullard, White Pigeon parents Keith and Phyllis Bullard, Constantine, husband George Mathis, Egg Harbor, NJ, sisters Beverly Klein, Constantine, Debra Gee, Harrison, MI, brother Michael Bullard, Constantine, . She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harriet and Gerald Haskell and Grace and Claude Bullard and several aunts and uncles. Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 12 - 2 PM at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, with Pastor Bud Granger officiating.
