Obituary

Duane L. Jarratt, Sr. age 76, of Centreville, passed away Sunday, February 15th, 2009 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Three Rivers on April 4, 1932, a son of Claude and Clara Mae (DeVoe) Jarratt. Duane graduated form Three Rivers High School in 1950. On February 25, 1951 he married Janet Breece in Three Rivers. Duane was employed as a ring coil set up operator at Peterson Spring in Three Rivers from 1975 to 1994. He previously worked at the Scamper Trailer factory in Bristol. Duane loved boating, model airplanes, computers and Citizen Band Radio with the handle Bulldog. Duane also worked with the Sheriffs dept. in civil defense and storm watching.

Surviving are his wife Janet Jarratt, Centreville, daughters Sylvia (Gary) Clouse, Sturgis, Bonnie Jo (Jeff) Hershberger, Sturgis, sons Duane Jarratt Jr., Parchment, Keith (Cody) Jarratt, Constantine, 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren, sisters Leona Mae Huber, LaGrange, Joyce Ward, Clove, ARK, Janet Boyce, Three Rivers, Jewel Jarratt, Tucson, Az, and brother Carl Jarratt, Baton Rouge, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Marvin and Donald Jarratt and sister Betty Jarratt.

Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will be held 2 pm Monday with Pastor Randy Evans officiating. Burial will be at Poes Cemetery in Newberg Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
