Douglas L. Edwards, age 56 of White Pigeon, passed away at his home on Friday, June 30, 2023 following a lengthy illness.  He was born February 8, 1967 in St. Joseph, MI, a son of Billy and Doris (Ball) Edwards. Doug graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1986 and then from Michigan State University Police Academy. In August 1987, he married Monica Ross in Three Rivers, they later divorced.  Doug was a history buff and car enthusiast. He enjoyed assembling models and going to various restaurants with his breakfast group.

Doug was currently working as a supervisor at Goshen Stamping. Previously he worked at American Axle in Three Rivers, and at Lake Park Industries, Shipshewana. He also served as a deputy at the St. Joseph County Sheriff Department.

Surviving Doug are his sons Douglas James Edwards, Mishawaka, Brandon (Marissa) Edwards, Fremont; grandson Hudson Edwards; and sister Laura (Joe) Flanagan, Fremont. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Relatives and friends will be received at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Monday, July 10, 2023  from 9:30-11:00 AM. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM with Joe Cooper officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph County Animal Rescue Fund.
