Donald Wayne Emerson, age 82, of Centreville, passed away Wednesday, October 1st, 2008 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. He was born in Centreville on February 9, 1926, a son of Ralph Waldo and Treva Belle (Wright) Emerson. He graduated from Centreville High School in 1945.

Don had worked in the shipping department at Denton Mills in Centreville. He also worked at the former Deisch Furniture and Appliance store in Three Rivers and at the St. Joseph County Courthouse in the maintenance department. Don enjoyed woodworking, especially making picnic tables and lawn chairs.

Surviving Don are his sister Marion (Dale) Ely of White Pigeon, nephews Dennis Ely of Osceola, IN and Darryl Ely of White Pigeon, a great nephew and a great niece. He was preceded in death by his parents.

At Don's request, there will be no visitation or public services. Interment will be at the Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice 6126 Lovers Lane Porta ge, MI 49002. Arrangements are being handled by the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville.
