Dennis A. Thieme, 68, of New Haven, IN, passed away November 17, 2018 in Fort Wayne surrounded by his family.

Denny was born in Fort Wayne, IN on July 7, 1950, a son of Frank and Esther (O'Connell) Thieme.  He graduated from Hoagland High School in 1968 and later attended Ivy Tech.  Denny worked at BAE Aircraft as a tester for 40 years.  He previously worked for GE Aircraft.

On July 1,2009, he married Cherie Relue in Fort Wayne at Lakeside Rose Garden.

Denny enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his wife Cherie Thieme of New Haven, IN, daughters Erica (Brian) Grote of Decatur, Andrea (Scott) Hamman of Spencerville, and Natalie (Luke) Foster of Hoagland; step children Nicole (Tim) Hart of Hoagland, Candy (Kurt) Heimann of Hoagland, and Jason Aldrich of Fort Wayne; grandchildren Austin, Jaiden, Alex, Grace, Allison, Carly, Abbey, Ian, Alisa, Carlton, Logan, and Megan; sister Dianne (Tom) Watson of Powell, OH; sister-in-law Nancy Thieme of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Joan Quandt, Gene Thieme, and Ron Thieme.

According to Denny's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 1 at 7:00 PM at The Hoagland Hayloft (15112 Brunson Rd., Hoagland, IN 46745).  Memorial contributions in Denny's honor can be directed to Poe VFD or Hoagland VFD.
