Delores Elaine Kinney, age 76 of Constantine, passed away Saturday, September 19th, 2009 at her home. Dee was born in Sturgis, MI on May 24, 1933, a daughter of William and Violet (Harder) Root. On May 2, 1953 she married Elwood Kinney in LaGrange. IN. They recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Delores worked at Wade electric and was a telephone operator in Sturgis. Later she served as a crossing guard and bus driver for Constantine Schools. Surviving are her husband Elwood Kinney, Constantine, daughter Linda (Ron Daly) Harman of Osceola, IN, son Bradley (Barbara) Kinney of Constantine, sister Mary Stewart of LaGrange, IN, grandchildren Chad Kinney, Brandy Wessels, Kyle Harman, Lance Harman, Wendy Rodewald, Josh Eash, Crystal Moore, and Tyler Kinney, sisters-in-law Thelma Root, LeRoy, MI, and Donna Root, Burr Oak, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Bob Root, Bruce Root, Dick Root, Bill Root, and sisters Emma Gilbo and Violet Root. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2-5 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will begin at 5:00 p.m. Pastor David Bell will officiate.
